Firmness & Fine Lines
The jawline goes first, and it goes quietly. What you are seeing is structural, which is why creams have not touched it and why the right treatment can.
Is this your skin?
- A jawline that has softened, or a slight heaviness where the line used to be clean
- Skin that no longer springs back the way it did when you press it
- Fine lines that stay visible after your face relaxes
- Makeup settling into places it never used to
- Cheeks that look flatter, with volume that seems to have moved downward
- Photographs from a particular angle that stop you
What is actually happening
Collagen production begins declining in the mid to late twenties and drops roughly one percent a year after that. Elastin, which is what lets skin snap back, barely regenerates at all in adulthood. The facial muscles underneath shorten and lose tone. Fat pads that once sat high in the cheek thin out and shift down.
All of that is structural, and it is happening several millimetres below anything a cream can reach. This is not a criticism of your skincare. A good serum genuinely improves texture, tone, hydration, and fine surface lines. It cannot reach muscle or stimulate collagen in the deep dermis, because it does not get there.
That is the whole reason in-treatment technology exists. Different tools reach different depths, and matching the tool to the layer is most of the skill.
Which layer, which tool
Texture, tone, fine surface lines, and light reflection. This is where your home routine and resurfacing treatments work, and it is genuinely worth doing. It is not where laxity lives.
Controlled heat in the deeper dermis contracts existing collagen immediately and triggers new collagen over the following weeks. This is the layer responsible for skin that has lost its snap.
Low-level current re-educates the facial muscles beneath the skin, shortening and lifting them. This is what changes the shape of the jaw and brow rather than the quality of the skin over it.
Microcurrent and radiofrequency get confused constantly because both promise firmer skin, but they work on completely different tissue. I have written the full comparison in Microcurrent vs Radiofrequency.
How I treat it here
I have performed more than 500 non-surgical facelift treatments, and the boutique was home to the first non-surgical facelift technology in Southern California. These are the treatments I reach for when firmness is the concern.
Microcurrent lifting through the jaw, cheek, and brow. No needles and no downtime. You see a result the same day, and the result compounds with repetition, which is why this one is offered as a series.
Radiofrequency for skin quality and tightening through the jaw and neck. Choose this one when the issue is skin that has lost its snap rather than a jawline that has dropped.
Everything in one visit, addressing lift, texture, tone, and glow together. This is the one to book before an event, or when you do not want to choose.
Surface work rather than structural. Worth adding when dullness and uneven tone are ageing you as much as the laxity is, which is more often than people expect.
When one treatment is not the answer
Microcurrent is cumulative. One session lifts, and the effect fades over a week or two. A series trains the muscle and the result holds, which is the difference between looking good on Saturday and looking different in three months.
Series pricing, the full protocol, and what actually happens in the hour are all set out on the non-surgical facelift page.
If you would rather build slowly than buy a block, the membership holds the same four to six week rhythm.
What I will tell you honestly
These treatments lift, firm, and improve skin quality. They do not remove significant excess skin and they do not reposition tissue the way surgery does. If what is bothering you is substantial laxity through the neck, a surgeon will give you a result I cannot, and I will say so rather than sell you a series that will disappoint you.
Where non-surgical genuinely wins is everything short of that: earlier intervention, no downtime, no anaesthetic, and a face that still moves and looks like yours.
Expect a visible lift after a single V-Lift and a change that holds after six to ten. Radiofrequency collagen builds over eight to twelve weeks, so the best result arrives well after the appointment. Anyone promising a permanent result from one session is not being straight with you.
And unglamorous as it is, daily SPF protects your result more than any treatment on this page. Sun exposure degrades collagen faster than you can build it.
Questions I get asked
Is this a substitute for a facelift?
No, and I would not describe it that way. It is a different category. Non-surgical treatment improves tone, firmness, and skin quality without downtime, and it works best when you start before laxity is advanced. It does not remove excess skin.
When should I start?
Earlier than most people do. Maintaining tone is considerably easier than recovering it, and clients who begin in their thirties and forties need less intervention over time, not more.
Microcurrent or radiofrequency?
If your jawline has softened and you want lift, microcurrent. If your skin has lost its snap and looks crepey, radiofrequency. If both, alternate them, which is what most of my long-term clients do. The full comparison is here.
Does it hurt, and is there downtime?
Neither hurts. Microcurrent is a faint tingle at most and many clients fall asleep. Radiofrequency feels like a warm massage. There is no downtime with either, and you can go straight out afterward.
Can I have these with fillers or Botox?
Generally yes, and they complement each other well, but timing matters. Tell me what you have had and when you had it, and I will schedule around it. If you have had injectables in the last two weeks, let me know before you book.
How long do results last?
A single microcurrent treatment holds for one to two weeks. A completed series holds for months with maintenance every four to six weeks. Radiofrequency collagen keeps improving for around three months and then gradually declines with normal ageing.

Not sure which one is yours
Microcurrent, radiofrequency, or resurfacing depends entirely on which layer is causing what you are seeing. One hour with me and you will know, before you spend anything on a series.
